CORON: Why Palawan is the Most Beautiful Island in the World

Coron Island, Tia Lacson Blog

It is no doubt that Palawan really is beautiful. We got to experience its magic as soon as we took a trip to one of its most visited islands– Coron.

To get to Coron, You need to fly from Manila (the city capital) to Coron, Palawan and you will land in Busuanga airport. The flight lasts for over an hour and is only about 1000-5000 Pesos depending on the season. There are also a lot of Promo fares which you can look out for on the local airlines.

Home to aquamarine waters, limestone cliffs and stunning lagoons, Coron boasts of its nature reserves both on land and sea, marine gardens of giant clams, sea turtles, white sand beaches, 600 butterfly species and the lushest green forests as if you were in a fairytale.

The magic that is Kayangan Lake.

Accessible via a 10 minute hike, Kayangan’s crystal clear waters and jaw-dropping views are one of the world-renowned and most instagrammable spots in the Island.

My second favorite place, the idyllic Banana Island.

We stayed and explored the island while tourists lazed around and some were snorkeling. However, the real gem is when you go to the back part of the island. Turquoise and teal waters await you and paradise is found.

Next is the shifting temperatures of the water at Twin Lagoons  which was an experience of a lifetime. You stop on the other side of the lagoon and can either climb or freedive your way to the other end or as some people call it a ‘secret lagoon’.

As if the previous pics weren’t enough beauty, Calamian’s Bulog Dos Island adds to the many wonders of Palawan– it’s picturesque sandbar allows travelers to take endless pictures with the unique rock formations and crystalline waters.

It’s also called ‘the Last Frontier’ by the locals since it is located at the southernmost tip of the Philippines just above Malaysia.

Palawan’s geographical location can be thanked for its natural wonders according to experts and I can agree. As soon as I set foot here, everything felt magical.

I felt like I was in a fantasy and something about this place just made me want to stay longer. After visiting this place, I can definitely say it lives up to its title.

Why is it the Best Time to visit Palawan Now?

Since a lot of developers and investors are planning to enter the Island and new resorts are being constructed, it’s best to visit now while the place is still not commercialized and there aren’t as many tourists yet. After being voted as the number one island in the world, tourism will definitely skyrocket and the best destinations will be crowded. So it’s best to experience it while prices aren’t expensive as they are soon-to-be and while it’s still just as beautiful as it is in these photos.
