Planning to visit the ever beautiful and hip Bali this summer? Here’s a guide on what to do,where to eat in each city, aaaand a tip to where the most instagrammable spots are!
Ubud is known for its serene and artsy vibe, while others say it has this yoga feel to it maybe because it is just a big scoop of culture as soon as you enter. There are a lot of good restaurants here and there’s always somewhere to stay for every budget and a good angle for every photographer. It’s also popular since they shot the movie ‘Eat,Pray,Love’ here. Its also a nice place to shop for organic stuff and this is where you can try their famous dish, the Babi Guling. It’s the best I swear!
The unique dining floating setting is guaranteed to flame a romance as you indulge on their delectable 5-star menu under a canopy of stars. It’s also one of the best restaurants in Bali with a view.
Ubud’s famous rice paddies are famous for it’s wondrous and natural beauty. You can enjoy a hot cup of coffee or try the Kopi Luwak here too. Worth a visit for coffee or snacks!
This beautiful temple on the sea attracts many tourists mainly because it’s very photogenic and you can buy cheap souvenirs here along the way. This was where I also tried the famous Kopi Luwak!
Other places in ubud you should check out:
This place is great for those who love to shop and eat. A lot of people love Seminyak because there’s just something unique and colourful and pretty in every corner. You’ll find resorts left and right here and there are also a good number of party spots where you can hang out!
Here is where you will find:
Chill out for an afternoon of cocktails and the most amazing sunset while relaxing on the bar in the pool or on the cabanas. Make sure to call for a reservation since this place is always packed!
This place is just magical. Gypsy caravans await you at the entrance and they serve the most mouthwatering spanish style cuisine. Watch the ducks in the lake swim by or take a walk towards the beach. I… on the other hand mostly took pictures–lots and lots of pictures.
I could keep coming back here all the time. W hotel is one of the best in bali but for those with a budget, it’s quite pricey to stay here. Good thing, when you order a drink, you can just lounge and swim at their hotel pool and restaurant and that’s kind of the same thing, except way cheaper!
Enjoy a tasty Nasi Goreng or Nasi Campur and a Bintang or Iced coffee while marveling at their sunset… Is it just me or sunsets in bali are just so breathtaking?
Some really good restaurants that are also recommended are:
–Naughty Nuri’s (Best ribs in town)
-and Smokehouse ( they have the best beef brisket here)
Nusa Dua and Jimbaran
This is where you will find the luxury resorts. Its beautiful, its clean. The beaches are less crowded but if you are looking for a great surf then there are better ones. It has a much slower pace compared to Kuta and Seminyak, but it’s a great area to relax and unwind. Nusa Dua and Jimbaran are just 15 minutes away from each other so I’ll just put them in one category.
Ayana Resort is a must-see when you are in bali. This is where you will find the rock bar, a famous sunset spot in bali where the waves crash onto the deck while you hang out and party with your friends. You will find so many beautiful swimming pools here and if you are a guest, you can actually experience their ‘floating breakfast’ on your private pool inside your villa.
This place is a surfer’s haven. It attracts surfers all over the world for its wide range of surfing beaches. The beaches are not only good for surfing, they are also all breathtaking. Although not all are ideal for swimming, you can always eat, relax and enjoy the view here…
You could stay here all day if you love to surf and chill. Aside from the magnificent view, they have excellent smoothie bowls here and just go down a couple flights of stairs and you will find Suluban Beach, where the cave welcomes the waters and the surfers enjoy the waves.
This one of a kind private beach club gives you a view of the majestic Indian Ocean as you laze away and listen to good music and exquisite food. You get there by riding a cable car from Semara Luxury Villas. This place is great for kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling and swimming too, and of course for an experience like no other.
Located just right beside Finn’s Beach Club, Karma Hotels also has their private beach for their guests. If you aren’t staying in their hotel, you can just get a day pass and enjoy their beach too.
This is probably Bali’s most famous destination, known for holding wild parties and is always flocked with backpackers. Everyone on the streets try to sell you something, but it’s worth an experience. If there’s one thing though, their sunsets here are fire. Also this is where you will find a lot of the outlet stores like Hurley, Billabong, and more. It’s also a good place to surf for beginners since board rentals are everywhere.
I love this vibrant spanish beach bar because its the ultimate chill out place. There are bean bags everywhere and you can watch the sunset go down from here while sipping on your favorite drink.
